Problem Statement
Businesses cannot easily see how many subscriptions were scheduled to end in a given period (e.g., a calendar year), how much revenue those subscriptions represented, or what percentage renewed. Existing reports do not solve this because multi-year plans fall outside the annual Subscription Health report.
User Story
As a business, I want a report showing all subscriptions scheduled to end during a selected period and the percentage that renewed, including a breakdown of manual vs automatic renewals, so I can measure retention and renewal performance.
Questions the Report Should Answer
For a selected period (e.g., 2025):
How many subscriptions were scheduled to end?
What was the invoice total associated with those subscriptions?
How many of those subscriptions renewed?
What is the revenue value of those renewals?
Of the renewed subscriptions, how many were automatic vs manual?
Definition of Done (DoD)
Admins can select a date range and view all subscriptions scheduled to end during that period.
The report displays:
Total expiring subscriptions
Invoice value of the expiring cohort
Renewed subscription count + renewal value
Renewal rate
Automatic vs manual renewal breakdown
Report is visible in the dashboard and can be exported.
Example:
Period: 2024
Subscriptions That Will End in the period: 1000
Of those 1000 β 90% (900) renewed
Auto renewed: 85% (800)
Self renew: 50% (100)
