Exclude Customers with an active subscription

What would you like to be able to do? (One idea per form):
Excluding Customers with an active subscription when expired subscriptions are pulled. When a customer has an expired subscription, but purchases a new subscription to become an active customer, there is no way to sort them out, except to do it manually.
Currently, a Pelcro list for expired subscriptions will include customers who have an active subscription, but a past expired subscription.

How would that help you?:
We are unable to automate emails since customers with an active subscription (but a past expired one) are included in renewal emails which causes confusion to the customer.
