Enable Apple Pay via Braintree

🔍 Problem Statement

Many businesses use Braintree as their preferred payment processor. The absence of Apple Pay support via Braintree limits the platform’s payment flexibility and can lead to friction in the checkout experience, especially for Safari and iOS users.

💡 User Story

As a business owner using Braintree as a payment gateway,
I want my customers to have the option to pay using Apple Pay,
so that they can complete purchases quickly and securely on iOS devices and Safari.

🎯 Definition of Done (DoD)

• Required Apple Pay merchant ID and payment processing certificate are registered in the Apple Developer account and linked to the Braintree account.

• Apple Pay button appears conditionally based on device/browser compatibility (Safari + Apple device) and active Braintree configuration.

• Both subscription creation and one-time payments work seamlessly with Braintree using Apple Pay.

• Braintree JavaScript SDK is integrated to tokenize Apple Pay payment methods.

• Payment method nonce is successfully generated and passed to the backend.

• Backend uses the nonce to create a Braintree transaction or associate the payment method with a customer.
