Allow for removal of metadata from customer accounts

Hello, we would like to be able to remove metadata tags from customer accounts. For example: we use metadata tags for dietary requirements for our conferences. From time to time, these dietary requirements are no longer needed, and rather than leave the field blank or enter “N/A” we would simply like the ability to delete the metadata tag.
