Add “Gift Message” to Fulfillment Export

Problem Statement

When a customer purchases a gift subscription, they can enter a gift message for the recipient. Fulfillment teams need these messages to include them in shipments.
Currently, the Fulfillment Export does not contain the gift_message, requiring staff to manually open individual gift orders to retrieve the note. This slows fulfillment and increases the chance of missing a message.

User Story

As a fulfillment or operations team member
I want the gift message to be included in the Fulfillment Export
So that I can easily print or include the note during the shipment process without manual lookup.

Definition of Done (DoD)

Scope

• Add a new column to the Fulfillment Export named gift_message.

• Column displays the message entered by the purchaser when creating a gift subscription.

• If the subscription is not a gift or no message was entered, the column appears but remains blank.

• Change applies to the Fulfillment Export generated through the Pelcro dashboard.

Acceptance Criteria

1. Export Structure

   • Fulfillment Export CSV includes a new column titled gift_message.

2. Correct Data Display

   • For gift subscriptions, the exact gift message recorded during purchase is shown in the export.

3. Non-Gift Entries

   • Column displays empty values where no gift message exists.

4. No Impact to Other Exports

   • Only the Fulfillment Export is modified.

5. Testing Requirements

   • QA confirms that:

     • The column exists.

     • Messages populate correctly for multiple test gift subscriptions.

     • Formatting of CSV remains unchanged aside from the new column.
